More about “Cindy” …
Cindy’s love for animals has developed into a lifelong career in the pet industry. She took her first job while in high school at the local pet store nicknamed, “the friendly store”. Here, she cared for small animals, fish, reptiles, and hand-raised baby birds – becoming their advocate. Educating customers in every aspect of husbandry, it was clear this was her passion and calling.
As a spokeswoman for the store’s reputation, she became assistant manager where she worked the next 22 years. During this time, she was active in several parrot and dog rescues and became a loyal owner of various birds and reptiles. One of Cindy’s favorite memories was doing an animal demonstration for her local elementary school. Professionally and personally, Cindy shared her time and knowledge fostering, rehabbing and educating the public for a better pet care standards.
Birds of a Feather, Flock Together!
This holds true as Cindy met her partner, a zoo keeper, at a P.E.A.C. (Parrot Education Adoption Center) conference. Their move together across town meant new opportunities for Cindy. In 2005, she was hired by one of her former pet wholesale distributors, Professionals’ Pet Supply, Inc. Using her retail experience, she brought fresh perspectives to customer service, husbandry and distribution of pets. As a pet owner with dreams to become a business owner, Cindy was determined to take her knowledge of the pet industry to a higher level. She began studying to become a registered veterinary technician at Stautzenberger College. Upon completion of her degree, she was hired on as a part time vet technician and continues to practice to this day. Partnering with Exotic and Small Animal Vets are just one aspect of her initiatives to improve pet health care.
Joining P.I.J.A.C. (Pet Industry Joint Advisory Counsel) and holding counsel on the Small Animal Care Committee, keeps her informed of industry trends and the latest practices and procedures. With professional partners, innovative solutions, and a desire to be the best source of companion animals for “pets sake”, Cindy was confident she could drive higher standards for wholesale distribution. She developed strategic operating procedures for healthier, less stressed companion animals while creating maximum value for pet businesses. This plan encourages market growth, allows high fill rates and uses compassionate care & knowledge as the base for success. In January of 2019, after 28 years of dedication to the pet industry, Cindy purchased Professionals’ Pet Supply and renamed it “ For Pets Sake, LLC ”.

Pets & Services
For Pets Sake takes a new intuitive approach to pet distribution. From quarantine methods, to husbandry standards and finally our shipping protocol. Every detail is carefully examined to assure our pets arrive in optimal health and for the best value. How do we do it? We don’t compromise on Animal CARE and we pay close attention to the concerns and needs of our pet partners. We are always open for suggestions to better serve the pet industry. Our goal is to raise the level of expectation for quality and provide the best pet experience possible.
Our breeders are USDA Certified where applicable. Where certifications do not apply, our breeders must meet our strict guidelines for animal welfare. Upon arrival, we utilize quarantine protocol measures that have proven to eliminate risk to our already proven, healthy animals. Our 1600 sq/ft building has (2) 100 sq/ft quarantine rooms all climate- controlled and backed by a generator in the event of an outage.
We are partnered with Certified Category-2 Vets to assure our pets receive the best veterinary care when necessary. Our animals are randomly tested for species- specific diseases for quality control. Once animals are ready for transfer, proper shipping clearances are made for safe transport across the US and locally. Cindy is a vet technician with nearly 30 years of experience caring for animals. She and her trained staff prioritize the health and wellness of every pet we sell. Together with our small animal & exotics veterinarians, we assure you always get healthy animals.
The Pets Sake Advantage – animal enrichment, natural UV lighting, adequate air exchange, and high-quality diets. Each animal is treated as a pet in our care. This includes fresh fruits and vegetables, spacious housing, and clean temporary homes. We find value in (more expensive) a high-quality diet. It aids in their health, wellbeing, and reduces unwanted digestive issues that can lead to poor health or worse. We only use climate-controlled vans that are designed for animal transport for local deliveries and our animals are packed safely with care. Our vets set recommendations for shipping statewide to minimize stress on our pets during transport. Animals are guaranteed to arrive healthy and thriving.
As it turns out, the key to growing markets, strong business partnerships, and profits are simple – Provide Healthy Animals! This is the foundation for our reputation and continued customer satisfaction.
